Good bye to one of my childhood heroines, Mary Travers. I loved your beautiful voice and your messages. You were an important part of the Divine Universe’s messengers of the 60’s and as a child of the 60’s, I too listened to your musical gift of freedom, of love between my sisters and brothers, and of a greater peaceful co-existing world with sheer acceptance of all human beings as equals waiting for the right time.
Mary Travers with her harmonious singing group brought out the best in people, good feelings about the fabulous joy of togetherness. Her singing inspired a generation of people to act. She made all of us, want to do the right things, we marched, and we boycotted businesses that practiced discrimination.
Peter, Paul and Mary Travers ushered in my generation’s concern for the public welfare and it helped us to force freedoms for people around the world. Their singing summoned the heroes and heroines of social justice and economic development reform movements for the good of all people.
Oh how we thank the Heavenly Divine Universe for our Oya Goddess Mary Travers. You made us change and believe that we are all the same. Mother Earth belongs to everyone. Your music made the freedom riders non-violently fight against hate. It was your songs of hope that made us aware of all people’s right to live a sustainable and abundant life. In a TV interview, Mary Travers described her group’s singing like sitting around a campfire “it gives comfort to a dark night”. However the Oya spirit says there was a greater purpose to their music; they brought change; shinning light to a dark world and the precious love for all.
Peter, Paul and Mary Travers were one of the first musical legends. They gave the world 20th century life altering musical genius that opened up the crystal door of opportunity for all peoplein the 21st Century. Mary Travers, Rest in Peace; Your life enriched the world and unlocked the status quo.
